2019 Subaru Outback Performance

The 2019 Subaru Outback runs on a 2.5L 4-cylinder Subaru BOXER® engine that gets up to 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain offers an efficient performance with an Active Valve Control System and Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

The other option is a 3.6L 6-cylinder Subaru BOXER® engine that can reach 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. This engine works with a High-Torque CVT and runs smoothly with a Dual Active Valve Control System (DAVCS).

Both transmissions give you the freedom to manually control the gear shifting without a clutch by featuring 6-speed manual mode and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

They also deliver lots of power and efficiency. The Subaru Outback can get up to an EPA-estimated 25 MPG city and 32 MPG highway. Plus, it's able to tow up to 2,700 pounds.

2019 Subaru Outback Dimensions

The 2019 Subaru Outback has 108.1 cubic feet of passenger room across two rows of seats. In this large, open interior, there's comfortable space for up to five people.

Behind the second-row seats there's 35.5 cubic feet of cargo room in the trunk. To make way for more, just fold down the 60/40-split flat-folding rear seats, and you'll have up to 73.3 cubic feet of cargo room.

This versatile design extends outside, too. The Subaru Outback sits high with an 8.7-inch ground clearance, so you can be confident taking it off-roading or driving down a bumpy road.

The 2019 Subaru Outback protects you with eight standard airbags, including a pair of side curtain airbags that cover both the front and rear seats. You'll also get reliable traction and stability with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

There's lots of technology watching out for your car too. The EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology system comes standard and bundles together intelligent safety features to prevent accidents, including:

Additional driver assistance features like a Blind Spot Detection system and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are also available, so you can have greater awareness when you're changing lanes and backing up too.
