The Subaru Impreza is available as both a sporty compact sedan and a convenient 5-door hatchback. Each one offers lots of features and great fuel economy. So, which trim has what you're looking for in your next car? Paul Miller Subaru helps drivers in Parsippany, NJ decide with this review of the 2020 Subaru Impreza trim levels.
Subaru Impreza
Both the Subaru Impreza sedan and hatchback come with standard all-wheel drive. Under the hood you'll find a 2.0L 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine that gets up to 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission comes standard on the base trim, but a Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is also available.
Each model runs on 16-inch steel wheels. Inside you'll find comfortable cloth seats with manually adjustable front seats. The dashboard has a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen for the SUBARU STARLINK® infotainment system. You can connect your smartphone with Bluetooth®, Apple CarPlay®, and Android Auto™. Plus, it lets you check behind your Impreza using the Rear-Vision Camera.
Subaru Impreza Premium
The Impreza Premium runs on the same engine as the base trim, but the CVT is now standard. It also gives you control over your drive with 7-speed manual mode and paddle shifters.
The hatchback has more ways to carry cargo with a set of standard roof rails. Both models run on 16-inch alloy wheels and feature halogen fog lights and auto-on/off headlights. It's ready to hit the road in the winter, too, with heated side mirrors, heated front seats, and a windshield wiper de-icer.

Subaru Impreza Sport
The Impreza Sport is designed to offer a fun drive with Active Torque Vectoring, a sport-tuned suspension, and the SI-DRIVE performance management system. The CVT remains standard on the sedan but the manual transmission returns on the hatchback.
This trim also features a signature style with 18-inch alloy wheels, aluminum alloy pedals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and sport cloth seats. Both the seats and steering wheel come with red contrast stitching. The sedan also features a rear spoiler.
There's more visibility in this trim too. The exterior comes with LED Daytime Running Lights, while the interior now features a 6.3-inch multifunction display and an 8-inch touchscreen.
Subaru Impreza Limited
The Impreza Limited is the top trim level. It continues to add style and features to the exterior with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, and LED Steering Responsive Headlights. This trim also delivers a safe drive with Blind-Spot Detection and a Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
The interior provides you with lots of luxury with leather seats and a 6-way power-adjustable driver's seat. You can also upgrade the infotainment system. An available voice-activated navigation system lets you get turn by turn directions without taking your hands off the wheel.
