Having the right tires on your car can make all the difference. Do you have summer tires on in the winter? Or do you do all-season tires? Knowing the difference can not only save you money but also keep you on the road. Our service team wants to help you understand the difference and to decide what tires are best for you.

There are three kinds of tires you can get for your vehicle; summer tires, winter tires, and all-season tires. Many drivers choose to have summer and winter tires and get them changed over from season to season. Winter tires have deeper treads to have to get better traction in snow. Winter tires also have a different rubber compound to not stiffen in the cold.

All-season tires have the same rubber compound as summer tires but all-season tires are made to be used year round. All-season tires offer winter traction and performance but not to the same level as winter tires. Summer tires perform best in the warmer months and deliver the best braking performance. Summer tires should not be used in the winter as they will not provide you with the traction you need.

No matter what tires you have on your car you will always want to keep an eye on your treads and replace them when they wear down. The service team here at Paul Miller Subaru can help you decide what tires you need for your vehicle and when it is time for a new set.
