2021 Subaru Legacy Performance Specs

The 2021 Subaru Legacy offers a smooth ride and a stable drive in any condition. It comes with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and a Traction Control System (TCS). Under the hood, you'll find an efficient 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that gets up to 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain also offers good fuel economy with an EPA-estimated 27 city and 35 highway MPG.

A turbocharged 2.4L 4-cylinder engine is also available that can make your midsize sedan feel like a sports car. It delivers up to 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Plus, it can also cover a lot of ground in between stops for gas with an EPA-estimated 24 city and 32 highway MPG. Not only that, but its 18.5-gallon fuel tank allows you to drive further around the city and country.

Included as standard in each Subaru Legacy trim is Lineartronic® CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Cruising is made more organic and natural with this transmission, meaning you'll feel a noticeable difference compared to the typical manual or automatic mode you may be used to driving.

On the outside, the Subaru Legacy keeps its namesake running. The available LED fog lights make better driving in low-light or night driving settings, and the side mirrors with integrated turn signals make communicating on the roadway a breeze. You may also enjoy the available trunk spoiler for a sporty look, potentially paired with the optional dual stainless steel exhaust outlets. 2021 Subaru Legacy Safety Features

With standard AWD, the Subaru Legacy is one sedan that's just as capable as an SUV. Whether there's snow in the forecast or a summer shower, you can count on it to keep you in control and maintain traction.

The Legacy also sports a solid frame and keeps you safe with multiple airbags, including side curtain airbags covering both rows of seats. While they protect the interior, EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology looks out for you during your drive. It comes standard on every trim and helps to prevent accidents with the following smart safety features:

  • Pre-Collision Braking
  • Pre-Collision Throttle Management
  • Lane Keep Assist and Sway Warning
  • Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering

In addition to EyeSight®, other safety features like the Blind-Spot Detection system with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are also available. All this technology gives you more awareness while driving, but the Subaru DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System can help you stay alert. It uses your driving patterns to look for signs of distracted driving, then reminds you to keep your eyes on the road.
