The Subaru WRX offers you a sporty drive in a car that's stylish and fun to drive. But which one of its trims is right for you? Paul Miller Subaru put together this 2018 Subaru WRX trim level comparison to help drivers in Parsippany, Wayne, and Morristown decide.
2018 Subaru WRX
The 2018 Subaru WRX is an exciting compact sedan with fun, agile handling and turbo power under the hood. It runs on a 2.0L 4-cylinder twin-scroll turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine that gets up to 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
A sport-tuned suspension and a standard synchronized 6-speed manual transmission helps you connect with your drive by giving you both nimble steering and quick gear shifts. While it's designed with performance in mind, it still gives you the stability of Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
The sleek exterior design features bold 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a subtle low-profile trunk spoiler, and convenient heated side mirrors to help you easily melt away frost or snow.
On the inside, there's premium cloth seats, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, and a 5.9-inch LCD color multifunction display to serve as your instrument cluster. Moving over from the driver's seat, you'll find access to all your music through the SUBARU STARLINKâ„¢ 6.2-inch Multimedia screen. This screen also gives you a look behind you while backing up through the Rear Vision Camera.
2018 Subaru WRX Premium
The next available trim is the 2018 Subaru WRX Premium. It features the same engine and standard transmission, but offers an available Sport Lineartronicâ„¢ Transmission with paddle shifters to give you the ability to control the gear shifting without a clutch.
It helps you see and be seen with standard Halogen fog lights and 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. You can also experience your drive from a different point of view with a power-tilt/sliding moonroof. In addition to letting more light in, you'll be able to see your infotainment clearer on this trim with a larger 7-inch Multimedia Plus screen.
2018 Subaru WRX Limited
Lots of convenient technology is added to the next trim. The 2018 Subaru WRX Limited gives you keyless access with a PIN-code. Once you open the door, you'll be greeted by welcome lighting.
That's just the beginning of all the lighting upgrades on this trim. You'll have standard LED fog lights for increased visibility, plus LED Steering Responsive Headlights (SRH) that pivot with your steering wheel to let you see around curves.
Meanwhile, the interior is focused on giving you a more comfortable drive with leather-trimmed seats and a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat.
2018 Subaru WRX STI
The 2018 Subaru WRX STI gives you more power with a 2.5L 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine that gets up to 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. It has an even more versatile, fully synchronized close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission.
It adds to this exciting design's capability with a front and rear limited-slip differential and Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE).
To reflect this performance-inspired drivetrain, there's a larger STI trunk spoiler, 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and red seatbelts.
2018 Subaru WRX STI Limited
The final trim is the 2018 Subaru WRX STI Limited. It upgrades your infotainment to a voice activated 7-inch Multimedia Navigation System. You'll get improved sound quality as well with the 9-speaker Harman Kardon® premium audio system.
