2014 Legacy at Paul Miller Subaru
The all-new 2014 Subaru Legacy has arrived at Paul Miller Subaru. The Legacy is in a category of its own. Wrapped in styling that's pleasant, if unexciting, its doors open up to a remarkably spacious interior with a very roomy back seat and a commodious trunk. It's powered by a proven and rugged 4-cylinder engine that, matched with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) delivers noteworthy fuel economy. It also has high safety ratings, competitive pricing and commendable resale value. But what really sets the Legacy apart is its standard All-Wheel Drive (AWD), which gives it the capability to deal with just about any turn of the weather. If you're looking for an all-around sedan that makes a lot of sense, it's difficult to beat the Legacy, particularly for those who live in harsher climates.
New 2014 Legacy Design Information
The Legacy is designed with features important to you, from fuel efficiency to cargo space and all the creature comforts to love every day's journey. Designed for optimal balance and an even distribution of power for maximum traction, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive makes for better stability, efficiency and a quicker response to conditions.
With features like Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle, the legacy exceeds stringent emissions standards and offers lower emissions than some hybrid or alternative fuel vehicles. Additionally the combination of the durable SUBARU BOXER® engine with the available Lineartronic® CVT allows the Legacy to get up to 32 MPG** highway.
The spacious interior will allow you to find ample hip room in the front, legroom in the back and headroom all around. There's also an available 10-way adjustable power driver's seat and 4-way adjustable power passenger seat for even more personal comfort. Combine comfort with luxury and you have the ultimate mid-size sedan. The added luxury of leather-appointed seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel makes the Legacy feel even more luxurious than it already drives.
2014 Legacy Convenience and Safety Features
Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive flows power to all wheels simultaneously for maximum traction. And in slippery conditions, it instinctively sends power to the wheels with the best traction, helping you stay on the road and on course. Working in conjunction with other Subaru engineering features such as Vehicle Dynamics Control, the Antilock Braking System, and Electronic Brake-force Distribution, the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system gives you the control, handling and confidence that competitive systems can't match.
The available EyeSight® Driver Assist system monitors traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, and warns you when you're swaying outside your lane. It can even help slow down the car when danger is lurking. Another way Subaru designs vehicles with your safety in mind.
Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), a stability control system, automatically senses steering and braking inputs to help keep the vehicle on the driver's intended path.
The Antilock Braking System (ABS) prevents wheel lock-up and helps maintain driver control. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) balances braking, while Brake Assist can sense a panic-stop situation and apply full braking force to help stop faster.
Every Legacy features a total of six front, front seat-side pelvis/torso, and side-curtain airbags[3]. The advanced system uses an array of sensors to help deploy the airbags in the most effective way possible.
The ring-shaped reinforcement frame is designed to shield and protect in a collision. Made of high-tensile strength steel, it directs impact energy around the passenger compartment, rather than through it.
New 2014 Legacy Performance Features
The Legacy's 2.5-liter boxer engine delivers 173 horsepower, good low-end torque, and relatively smooth and quiet operation. Matching this engine with the literally seamless CVT automatic will produce the best fuel economy (24/32 mpg city/highway), but the 6-speed manual is a better choice if saving money is a bigger priority. The most refined engine choice for the Legacy is the 3.6-liter 6-cylinder, which offers strong acceleration and passing power, but with a bit less fuel efficiency. Manual-equipped cars feature a viscous coupling center differential that splits torque in a constant 50/50 front-to-rear distribution. Legacys equipped with an automatic transmission use a more sophisticated electronic setup that, on the 3.6R, can even vary the torque split according to need.
